The Emerging Leaders of St. Francis House hosted the 10th annual Shooze Cruise on August 14. The cruise was a tremendous success, collecting 250 pairs of shoes and raising more than $18,000.
Timothy Nolan, who founded the Shooze Cruise, told the 230 attendees how thrilled he is that the event has grown from a small grassroots effort to a summertime tradition. He also explained the importance of St. Francis House, which he described as a “10-story skyscraper that is the heart of Boston.” That “heart,” he said, is a place where staff and volunteers “reach out to our guests, restore their confidence and self-image, and help them become happy and productive in society again.”
The Emerging Leaders are deeply grateful for the event’s Host Committee and corporate sponsors. The cruise is possible because of their generosity.
