On Wednesday October 26, more than 440 of Boston’s most influential business leaders, philanthropists and advocates were at the Fairmont Copley Plaza to support St. Francis House’s 15th Annual All The Way Home Gala.
The event celebrates and raises funds for St. Francis House, Boston’s largest day shelter, providing refuge and pathways to stability for more than 500 poor and homeless men and women each day. We are proud to announce the amazing success of the event this year with revenue of over $784,000.
All The Way Home was chaired by Michael Puzo, Partner, Hemenway & Barnes, LLP, and honored Judith Malone and Stephen Kidder, for their long-standing generosity to St. Francis House as well as their tireless work on behalf of many non-profits and cultural institutions in Greater Boston.
The program included St. Francis House board chair Tim Egan, St. Francis House board member Father Tom Conway, as well as Executive Director Karen LaFrazia. Our honorees were introduced by our event chair, Mike Puzo, a long time friend of Judy and Steve and St. Francis House supporter.
In Judy’s words from the podium, “In Boston, we are truly fortunate to have St. Francis House. I’m so proud to serve on the St. Francis House board for over eight years, watching how St. Francis House has transformed lives. From meals to housing, they are always open, always offering guests a helping hand to rebuild their lives.”
The night concluded with a video introducing our Moving Ahead Program graduate, Ursel. We are so thankful Ursel shared her transformative experience with our audience.
For someone like me, who arrived at St. Francis House broken and scared, with no voice, it is a safe haven. It’s a place where people care, even when I’m at my worst.”
