St. Francis House is thrilled to receive $15,000 from Bank of America Charitable Foundation this week as an investment in our basic needs programs and services.

This funding will allow St. Francis House to help improve our guests’ economic mobility through the multitude of services we provide in our Day Shelter.

Basic services for 6,450 guests

Our basic services are critical services for the poor and homeless of Boston. From providing food and daytime shelter to showers, access to medical care, clean and seasonally appropriate clothing, and mail services, we meet all of our guests’ needs in one building. In FY16, we welcomed and served 6,450 unique individuals through our Day Shelter alone.

Once their hunger is alleviated and their basic needs are met, our guests are able to better prepare for the next step on their pathway to stability, such as counseling services or participation in our Sullivan Family Moving Ahead Program.
