Josh Gannon is one of the five runners on our team who’s going to run the #BostonMarathon in almost exactly two months! He has a special Valentine’s Day gift and message about his progress to run and raise money for St. Francis House. He’s getting creative making playlists for all you would be runners out there! What a creative guy, GO JOSH!
It’s Valentine’s Day, or as I like to call it, the cold, frozen heart of winter.
Here in Boston, the shortest month is the darkest, coldest, and least romantic time possible, no matter how many chocolate hearts you throw at it. But you know what’s better than a million chocolate hearts?
Now that we can stream the Purple One, I’ve put together a little Valentine’s Day gift for you all. It’s a Prince-only Spotify playlist to get you through that long run you’ve been avoiding.
An hour and a half builds the tempo up from “Let’s Go Crazy”, through “D.M.S.R.” and “Kiss”, and then back down through both hits and deep cuts until the smooth comforts of “If I Was Your Girlfriend”.
“When Doves Cry” is your cool down, perfect for a nice walk back to the car or your front door. I hope you like it.
I’m also going to be making running playlists for people all winter long!
Just let me know in your donation’s comments what kind of pace you’re aiming for and something fun about the music. Maybe you want to run to “80s Flashbacks”, “Dirty Funk”, or a setlist of Boston bands to get you ready for Boston this spring.
I can’t promise instant results, but I’ll get you at least an hour-long mix of stuff geared to your speed. Prince may show up again, on more than one list.
Feel free to share with friends and fellow runners!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
