Happy New Year, Happy Groundbreaking at 48 Boylston Street!

What is 48 Boylston Street?

48 Boylston Street is the former Boston Young Men’s Christian Union building. St. Francis House, in partnership with the Planning Office of Urban Affairs, purchased the building with the vision of creating 46 units of affordable housing, a social enterprise creating employment training and new jobs for homeless individuals, and revitalizing our neighborhood!

We couldn’t be more excited to be breaking ground!

In January, we will be celebrating the next milestone in our redevelopment of 48 Boylston Street. Construction starts next month!

Imagine this!

By this time next year (December 2018), 46 people who are experiencing homelessness or poverty will be moving into their new, affordable homes! Soon after, a much needed social enterprise will be part of this revitalized neighborhood, offering training and employment opportunities to those who need it most! And if you thought that was enough…by having this building located directly across the street from St. Francis House, we are going to be able to move our administrative offices over, thus opening up 7,000 square feet for recovery services here at St. Francis House.
