To support basic services of meals, clothing, and counseling support for individuals experiencing poverty or homelessness

BOSTON – November 29, 2016 –Citizens Bank has awarded St. Francis House with a $50,000 gift to support their basic services, counseling and supportive housing initiatives as a low-barrier shelter turning no one away. They presented the check at St. Francis House on #GivingTuesday in conjunction with a volunteer service group to further reinforce the many ways that Citizens Bank gives back in the community.
“Sustaining important services for individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness is challenging,” shared Karen LaFrazia, Executive Director, St. Francis House. “Emergency shelters like St. Francis House not only provide supportive services to guests while they are experiencing homelessness, but are also the launching pad for our guests to find their pathways to stability.”
“Knowing that safe and reliable resources are available at St. Francis House when emergencies arise is critical for our community members experiencing homelessness,” said Jerry Sargent, President, Citizens Bank, Massachusetts. “We are proud to continue our annual support for St. Francis House to help them provide the basic services individuals need to gain stability in their lives.”
Since 2013, Citizens Bank has awarded $240,000 in charitable contributions to St. Francis House. With their latest support, St. Francis House will continue to provide core basic services and counseling opportunities for the 500+ unique individuals who come through our doors each day.
