Founder’s Society Appreciation Event is an invitation only event for the committed group of leadership donors who give $1,000 or more each year to our Annual Fund.


Our Founder’s Society Appreciation Event was held on Wednesday, June 7th at the Lenox Hotel.  More than 80 of member’s of our generous Founder’s Society were in attendance.  Each year, St. Francis House hosts a private reception to recognize our Founder’s Society members’ dedicated philanthropic leadership and commitment to St. Francis House.

St. Francis House Board Chair, Tim Egan, kicked off the evening by welcoming and thanking the Founder’s for their compassionate giving.  “Whether you give with one large check or sacrifice a portion of each week’s paycheck, we appreciate each and every one of you.”  Tim reported the collective giving of Founder’s Society’s 450 members totaled over $1.6 million in fiscal year 2017. “Thousands and thousands of individuals directly benefited from your support last year.”

Special guest speaker, Ursel, a graduate of our Moving Ahead Program addressed the impact St. Francis House and the program had on her path towards sobriety and in her current role as a peer advocate substance abuse specialist. “I am so proud that I can look to the future and be a role model for others.  I am thankful that I see the ripple effect of St. Francis House’s good work every single day.”

President and CEO, Karen LaFrazia spoke of the importance of St. Francis House as a place of refuge – whatever form that may take – meals, clothing, vocational training, or a variety of other forms.  She also gave insight into the shape of the future of St. Francis House with an increased focus on recovery in the near future.
