St. Francis House Holiday Open House

Our annual holiday open house was held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 5:30-7:30pm at St. Francis House.  Over 100 people were in attendance to spread holiday cheer and to learn about our work.

For our tried-and-true donors it was an opportunity to feel connected and close to St. Francis House.  For those new to our work, it was a chance to open the door and explore all we do.  Tours were available throughout the night, as well as a short speaking program by our CEO Karen LaFrazia.

Our gift wrapping and card writing station was busy all evening and attendees wrapped bundles of gifts which will be distributed on Christmas Day.  The highlight of the evening was our Art Sale which offered hundreds of items in a variety of mediums created by guest’s of St. Francis House from our Expressive Art Therapy Program.  Art sales from the night topped $690, and 100% of this money goes to our St. Francis House artists.

Thanks to all who attended.  Photos from the night in the accordion below.

On December 3rd, we opened our doors to friends and donors for our Holiday Open House.  The evening was a chance for the development team to say “Thank you” for all the dedication and compassion our St. Francis House friends have shown us year round.

Art Show and Sale

The event featured a large inventory of guest artwork from our Margaret Stewart Lindsay Art Studio. Items included jewelry, saori scarves, pastel paintings and charcoal drawings.  The proceeds from sales go directly to the St. Francis House artists.

A Message from our President

Karen LaFrazia, our President and CEO, welcomed guests to the evening program, and discussed the challenges to our homeless guests during the holiday season.  Ms. LaFrazia introduced Chris Bundick, St. Francis House Life Skills Instructor with our Moving Ahead Program, and Kim Kates, our Next Step Manager.  Both explained their roles and the importance of the Holiday Gift Drive to their respective programs.

Many members of our Emerging Leaders were in attendance to talk to guests about their roles and many attendees dropped off gifts they had signed up for as part of our Holiday Gift Drive.  The night was complemented by a delicious selection of appetizers, cheese, and charcuterie trays, generously sponsored by Whole Foods.

Thank you to those who attended
