Harpoon Helps & Holiday Spirit

Harpoon Helpers at St. Francis House

Harpoon Helps is the charitable arm of Harpoon Brewery in Boston.

The Harpoon Helps team weren’t actual elves, but they carried plenty of holiday spirit into St. Francis House on Saturday Dec 3.  The group brought festive supplies and created a winter scene on our 5th floor for our Moving Ahead Program students and staff to be welcomed to the following Monday morning. They decorated a tree, looped up garland and lights around posts and railings, and sparkled many surfaces with shiny ornaments and tinsel.

Who were they?

Our Harpoon Helpers included sales team members and friends – some were in town from New York.  They arrived on a Saturday afternoon, just as our lunch service was starting for guests.  “It’s good to be in the building when you’re open for business, so we can see all the good work that you do for Boston’s homeless,” said one happy helper.

Why this makes us happy?

We’re thrilled to share the workload with our community partners.  Harpoon Helps’ generous spirit was a perfect gift to our building.  Showing them the work we do, day in and day out, while they were here serves to make our partnership stronger.  From all of us here at St. Francis House, we thank these volunteers for helping spreading the love this holiday season!

Have you seen other ways companies and partners are sharing the holiday spirit?

On Dec 12 and 13, we received over fifty gifts from the John Hancock offices in Westwood and the Seaport District of Boston.  Check out their generosity.
