A hoodie is more than just a piece of clothing for our guests at St. Francis House.
It can be the difference between life and death in these cold New England temperatures. Hoodies have two advantages over sweatshirts as they have an attached head covering, minimizing the risk of losing your hat, and also by helping protect the back of your neck to minimize heat loss.
Christmas Day at St. Francis House
Every Christmas Day, Cardinal O’Malley kicks off the morning with a brief prayer service and leads the community in festive caroling. After a homemade Christmas luncheon feast that our kitchen staff and volunteers have made and served restaurant-style to our guests in the dining hall, it is time for the presents! Every holiday season, we distribute individually gift-wrapped hoodies to our guests – 500 hoodies, to be exact.
