This summer 2017, the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) and the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (OWD) selected St. Francis House as a one-stop career center in the City of Boston along with Work Inc, for FY18. St. Francis House will join pre-existing operators Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) and Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries in administering the City of Boston career centers.
Career Centers: Access to Employment Network
As the lead agency, working collaboratively in partnership with other homeless workforce providers, we will provide access to employment for individuals experiencing homelessness.
St. Francis House will be a physical center and resource for homeless job-seekers, providing specialized support, information on job openings, and job search assistance for clients to better overcome severe barriers to employment.
We are proud that our partners include:
- Boston Public Health Commission for Homeless Services
- Project Place
- New England Center and Home for Veterans
To find out more about our services or get connected, please contact Lisa Vogel, Access to Employment Supervisor, via email or at 617-654-1236.
St. Francis House will be able to establish and operate this designated career center through funds from the new federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Working with PIC and OWD, St. Francis House will help increase access and availability of career services to both Boston residents and employers.
