“My time working with the Emerging Leaders gave me the opportunity to stay connected to an organization that means a lot to me, and that I know is doing incredibly important work in the Boston community.”
Emily’s Emerging Leader Experience
Emily first learned about St. Francis House during her time working at the PULSE Program while attending Boston College. She worked with our Learning and Evaluation team upon graduating from BC. Emily attended an Emerging Leaders volunteer day in our kitchen, just a few weeks after her last day as a St. Francis House employee. On that volunteer shift, she met many of the people she ended up planning and collaborating with for this summer’s Shooze Cruise.
As a Database Analyst and Programmer at Blackbaud, Emily currently works on projects involving charitable giving data to help organizations better understand the charitable giving market and how they can use this to maximize their fundraising and fuel their missions.
“I was fortunate enough to spend a year working at St. Francis House when I graduated Boston College, learning a great deal about the Boston community and the work being done to help those experiencing homelessness and poverty.”
Emily also really enjoys volunteering in the kitchen and comes in on her own a few times a month to do that. She has been a part of the Emerging Leaders since the Spring of 2018.
Who are the Emerging Leaders?
The Emerging Leaders are young professionals who are rising stars in their fields and strive to spread the message of social responsibility. Committed to engaging their peers in philanthropy and volunteerism, they donate $200 or more each year to support the life-saving services that St. Francis House provides 365 days of the year.
