At St. Francis House, we look for innovative ways to meet our guests’ needs for intellectual and personal growth. We’re delighted that talented supporters have partnered with us to develop exciting opportunities that foster creativity and improve our guests’ quality of life.

“For that one hour, it’s just about the music.”

Wander by a small room on the mezzanine at St. Francis House on any Thursday afternoon, and you’ll hear voices singing to the accompaniment of a piano, sometimes a guitar or two and a mix of percussion instruments.

The St. Francis House Music Group provides opportunities for guests who love to sing. The weekly group, begun in 2011, is an enjoyable sing-along that features tunes requested by guests. The group is led by Antonia Nedder, a pianist who has performed at Tanglewood many times. Antonia also offers piano lessons for motivated guests.

For Nedder, Thursdays at St. Francis House are the highlight of her week. “This is one of the best things I’ve ever done,” says Nedder. “It’s made a huge difference in my life, being able to share music in this way.”
