Right on Hereford, Left on Boylston – the most coveted turn in all of racing.
A heartfelt congratulations to our marathon team who raced from Hopkington to Boylston Street this past Monday, raising money for the guests of St. Francis House. With temperatures hovering around 65 degrees and a nice tailwind for the first half of the race, four runners from our five person team were able to participate in the iconic Boston Marathon and each of them crossed the finish line on Monday.
Race results for participants are as follows:
Justin Dancu: 3:31:35
Sam Macomber 4:11:35
Ty Hapworth 4:31:39
Josh Gannon 4:53:11
Team member Frank M., who suffered an injury prior to race day and couldn’t compete on Monday, has shown amazing team spirit – continuing to fundraise for St. Francis House and collecting over $11,000 in donations to date!
Our Marathon fundraising campaign goal this year is $69,000 and consists of several components.
Our marathon runners carry the greatest load of this 69K goal, each committing to raise a minimum of $8,000. We also have marathon team sponsors, we hosted the Race to the Finish Line fundraiser, and held an online raffle for JetBlue tickets in February.
We are currently at $62,800 with one month to go until the campaign closes. If you haven’t already, please consider donating to the individual runners or the team.
The individual fundraising, on top of a heavy race training schedule, is quite difficult, and we commend our runners for their diligence in doing both. Thank you TEAM!
A final thanks to our 2017 Marathon Team Sponsors.
