With our JetBlue raffle around the corner in February, here’s an interview with Jennifer G, one of last year’s winner of TWO round trip tickets. Check out her amazing story and remember to check our website for the raffle. Raffle starts Feb 11th and runs through the end of the month.
How did you find out about the raffle?
I found out about the raffle through an Emerging Leader, who happens to be my fiancé, and who was happy to be the beneficiary of the second round trip ticket!
How many raffle tickets did you purchase?
I purchased one ticket, and was shocked to find that I had won! It just goes to show that even if you can’t quite swing two or more tickets, you never know what might happen!
How did you decide where to go and what was the selection process like?
When I called to find out how to get the tickets, Sharon mentioned that we could fly as far as Lima, Peru. That put the bug in my head to look abroad, and we considered Costa Rica and Ecuador too. With the opportunity to see everything Peru has to offer, flying to Lima won out!
How did the trip turn out?
The trip was amazing! Spending a morning exploring Machu Picchu and hiking for two days in the world’s second deepest canyon were definite highlights. We started in Lima before flying inland to the Sacred Valley. There, we traveled through some of the smaller towns on our way to Ollantaytambo, the village where the railroad to Machu Picchu ends. We caught our first sight of Incan ruins here, and were charmed by the hospitality of the Peruvian people.
Soon, it was on to Machu Picchu, which was simply breathtaking with 360 degree views of mountains, rainforests and ruins. From there, we made our way to Cusco with its grand plaza and delicious food. Our last city was Arequipa, an enchanting city ringed by snowcapped volcanoes. We left from there for our 2-day hike in the Colca Canyon, a canyon that is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon and a lookout point for giant condors. Overall it was an amazing trip, with delicious food and breathtaking sights!
