Thanks to some incredibly generous donors, this past Tuesday a group from our Carolyn Connors Women’s Center was able to enjoy a cinema outing to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D at the Loew’s Cinema on Tremont Street.
Thrilled to take hold of their 3D glasses, most of the women were experiencing this type of film for the first time. They enjoyed a rainy day indoors with some Disney magic while snacking on popcorn, soda, and some candy.
Our women were very grateful and excited for this opportunity, which many of us might take for granted.
Supportive Services beyond St. Francis House
Our Women’s Center provides more than basic services of meals, showers, and a safe women-only space. In addition to counseling, we provide enrichment and educational opportunities such as museum field trips or cinema outings.
Every few months our Carolyn Connors Women’s Center hosts a field trip or group outing. These events give women the chance to escape from the many stresses of their daily lives and enjoy a positive experience in a safe and supportive environment. This is an unique opportunity for our women to reclaim dignity and belonging within their own community.
How can you help?
Because of our donors’ generosity, we are able to provide these meaningful opportunities for our ladies. If you would like to help us provide ongoing special events for our female guests, please let us know!
