Meet Team St. Francis House: Running the 130th Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America

We are thrilled to introduce the runners of Team St. Francis House! On April 20, they will take on 26.2 miles in the 130th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America®, representing our day shelter and raising critical funds to support our vital programs and services.

Meet the team:

Danny Dwyer is a special education paraprofessional who knows SFH very well. Over twenty years ago, Danny was a guest at SFH and says, “the food was good and the experience would give me hope and make me feel human again.” Running his 8th Boston Marathon, he feels that it is a personal responsibility to give back to the organizations and people that helped him.

Kevin Koncilja is the Head of SOX Financial Reporting at John Hancock and Lecturer of Finance and Economics at Suffolk University. With 12 years of service volunteering at the Paulist Center, Kevin is dedicated to helping Boston’s neighbors in need. Having completed 66 marathons and extreme ultra-races like the Badwater 135, he now runs for St. Francis House to support their compassionate work, believing deeply in the mission to “love thy neighbor.”

Chris Ashton is the Principal US BEnv Lead of the Southeast & Midwest Regions at Burro Happold, an international consulting firm. He only began running during the COVID-19 pandemic with his cousin Casey, who has since been diagnosed with cancer. His goal is to run a lot of “cool” marathons in her honor. Boston has been at the top of his list.

Marlene O’Donnell is a Nutritionist at Atrius Health and a dedicated advocate for SFH. With a history of actively volunteering and repeatedly running as a member of Team SFH in the Boston Marathon, Marlene is thrilled that SFH is being represented in this year’s Boston Marathon and played an integral role in securing SFH’s bibs.

Hilary Pecis is a contemporary artist whose work has been shown in national and international exhibitions and can also be found in the permanent collections of several museums (she was even featured in Vogue). She has run marathons in honor of down syndrome and mental health awareness before but feels like the 2026 Boston Marathon is the perfect opportunity to run for another topic that is near and dear to her heart: homelessness.

Rob Cummings is a semi-retired individual who currently works at SVP Financial Services. He has served on SFH’s Board of Directors for several years and is a continued advocate for SFH. Having volunteered at SFH, he highly values and respects SFH’s guests and staff. He sees running the 2026 Boston Marathon for SFH as another way to give back.

Caitlin Murphy is the Director of Underwriting at DOXA, an insurance company. She is the sister of Molly Dugan, SFH’s Director of Behavioral Health. She has volunteered at St. Francis on several occasions, and she feels like this is the ultimate opportunity to partner with the program and to give back. Having only worked in corporate insurance, she wants her children to see her work hard on something that directly benefits an institution and a population that she cares deeply about.
