Cutting the Ribbon on 41 LaGrange Street

We recently celebrated a major milestone in our work to create pathways from homelessness to stability and home: the ribbon cutting of 41 LaGrange Street!

Years of planning, partnership, and hard work went into bringing this vision to life. On September 8, we gathered with community partners, elected officials, and LaGrange residents to celebrate the completion of this transformative project. 41 LaGrange Street, developed in partnership with the Planning Office for Urban Affairs (POUA), is our brand-new 126-unit mixed-income housing community in downtown Boston, including 70 units of permanent supportive housing for individuals and families moving beyond homelessness.

After years of imagining, planning, and working toward this moment, it was incredibly fulfilling to see 41 LaGrange come to fruition — and, most importantly, to see residents beginning to make these apartments their homes.

We were honored to hear from our CEO Karen LaFrazia, Archbishop Richard G. Henning, Bill Grogan of POUA, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Mayor Michelle Wu, State Senator Lydia Edwards, State Rep. Aaron Michlewitz, Patricia Marinilli of Bank of America, City Councilor Ed Flynn, and, most importantly, Brianna, a current LaGrange resident.

Their words were a powerful reminder that this milestone represents so much more than the completion of a building. It represents years of collaboration and a shared commitment to creating housing that helps people build stable, fulfilling futures. It’s about creating homes, building community, and ensuring that people have the opportunity to move forward with dignity and stability.

We’re deeply grateful to the many partners, supporters, staff, and community members who helped turn this vision into reality. After years of planning and hard work, seeing 41 LaGrange come to life — and knowing that it is now home to more than 125 residents — is a milestone worth celebrating.

We celebrated more than a building. We celebrated home.
