Shooze Cruise is our signature boat party hosted by our Emerging Leaders every August. Attendees bring a pair of shoes to donate as they board the cruise.

Oh Buoy!

The 14th Annual Shooze Cruise, presented by the Emerging Leaders of St. Francis House set sail on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017. On a delightful 75° evening, attendees boarded the Provincetown II from the Seaport’s World Trade Center Pier with new men’s shoes in hand.

Early in the night

As attendees arrived and crossed the gangway, they donated shoes into branded collection boxes that quickly filled to the brim. (Thanks DGI Invisuals for the boxes!)  Our Emerging Leaders team got to work early helping at the registration area, the expedited host committee boarding desk and setting up the on board raffle.  We also set up an quick and easy burrito station (compliments of Boloco Boston Common) which was a huge hit with attendees as they first got on board.

Once out on the harbor, the abundance of food was generously donated by North 26 Restaurant and Chef Julia Brant for the 3rd consecutive year.  Sandwiches, a shrimp tower and various salads were on the menu.

Guests enjoyed a picture perfect evening and snapped hundreds of photos of the city skyline.  Many guests took advantage of our Instagram contest for a chance to win door prizes. Our door prizes were two pairs of Clarks shoes (generously donated by Clarks) and Red Sox tickets.

The dance floor was jammed all night with hundreds of Boston’s young professionals led by Boston’s own DJ Renell.  After the counting was complete, we collected over 400 pairs and raised over $33K for St. Francis House.

Special thanks and sponsors

Special thanks to our Captain Level ($5K) Sponsor Webster Bank for their financial support and presence on the cruise. In kind sponsors, North 26 Restaurant, Chef Julia Brant, and the crew at WERS 88.9 supported us by donating the evening’s food and much appreciated radio ads. Commander level ($2.5K) sponsors Avalon Bay and Clarks also had a showing on board and by all accounts the cruise was a hit.

Our 13th Annual Shooze Cruise started wet, but by the time we set sail, the sun was peeking out over Boston Harbor. A giant dance party percolated all night on the top deck of the Provincetown II and we were thrilled that our friends from Natixis brought over 50 guests on board. Over 300 people attended the cruise, despite the drizzle, and we thank you for showing up! We collected over 300 pairs of shoes from guests boarding the Cruise and between sponsorships, host committee memberships and ticket sales we were able to raise just over $33,500. An amazing sum!

We started distributing those 300 pairs of shoes the very next day. If you were unable to attend, you can still help us by donating shoes, either in person at 39 Boylston Street, or by using this online form.

Thank you so much to our 2016 Shooze Cruise Sponsors, especially to our Admiral Level sponsor this year, Clarks America of Newton Massachusetts. Another special thanks to the folks at North 26 Restaurant and Chef Julia Brant for providing most all of the food to us for free. There was a bountiful presentation which include an amazing shrimp tower and lobster sliders.

We are so thankful to everyone who was a part of the Cruise. Our guests are able to benefit directly from your generosity.

Hope to see you all on the Cruise again next year!
