St. Francis House hires Andrew Russell as VP of Philanthropy and External Affairs
St. Francis House is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Russell as vice president of philanthropy and external affairs. Russell assumes this role as St. Francis House enters the final year of its most ambitious and successful $60 million comprehensive campaign. In this role, Russell will oversee and lead St. Francis House’s fundraising efforts and the team that manages individual giving, events, corporate and family foundations, tributes, community partnerships, and planned giving. Russell was most recently the chief advancement officer at Boston’s Museum of Science and brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising to St. Francis House.
“We are so pleased to welcome Andrew to St. Francis House. He has extensive experience in nonprofit philanthropy and, even more important, shares our dedication to St. Francis House’s mission to provide refuge and pathways to stability to adults experiencing homelessness,” said Karen LaFrazia, President, and CEO of St. Francis House. “We are seeing more people come through our doors than ever before. Demand is up twenty percent from last year, and the funds needed to support that increase are up proportionately. Andrew will provide essential expertise and leadership to our advancement team as they navigate the unprecedented rise in demand for our services.”
“I am truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to join the remarkable team at St. Francis House. The chance to make an immediate impact on the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness is both a privilege and a responsibility,” said Andrew Russell. “In my new role as Vice President of Philanthropy and External Affairs, I look forward to leading our dedicated team in raising funds that will directly support those in need. The money we raise will not only provide immediate essentials like food and clothing but will also fuel the innovative programs aimed at addressing the long-term challenges faced by individuals striving for stability, steady employment, and ultimately, a place to call home. St. Francis House’s commitment to holistic support aligns perfectly with my own values, and I am excited to contribute to the transformative work they do in creating pathways to stability for those who need it most.”
Russell is a graduate of Boston College and resides in Milton, MA.
