The renovation of St. Francis House at 39 Boylston Street is underway!
Here are the latest highlights:
Current Status:
• Temporary walls are up in the lobby at 39 Boylston Street, separating our operations from the “Construction Zone”.
• The existing kitchen at 39 Boylston Street remains operational, but the guest serving and dining area is located across the street at 7 Boylston Square.
• Demolition on the mezzanine started 2 weeks ago. Check out the pictures below to see how it is coming along!
Next Steps:
• The demolition of the mezzanine will continue for the next 2-3 weeks.
• Preparations will begin on the basement for constructing the shaft for the new elevator. This will involve some demo and rebuilding of some passage areas.
• Passenger elevator #1 is scheduled for renovation starting in roughly 2 weeks.
• Demo to the atrium and dining room will happen in late September/October.
Guidance & Reminders:
• Guests and staff are not permitted in construction areas for safety reasons.
