Winter Walk raises awareness and financial support for Boston-based organizations working to end homelessness. St. Francis House is honored to join 12 other area nonprofits which have been invited to participate this year. 100% of the proceeds from Winter Walk will be distributed to the partner organizations, including St. Francis House.

The registration fee is $100 per person walking, and you can choose to pay up front or fundraise your fee. There are discounted registrations for youth and students.

Winter Walk is an annual walk, 2 miles around the streets of the city in February, the coldest month of the year. It is our chance to link arms with those who experience homelessness and to listen to their stories. It is our chance to affirm our commitment to do all it takes to ease the struggles of those who are homeless.

We need your help! The St. Francis House team must raise $10,000 in order to qualify for the Winter Walk match! Any donation is welcome!

Event Schedule

Boston: 8:30 am-9:00 am: Registration is open at our tent on the Boston Common. Grab some coffee and meet our partner organizations as they share information from their tables and outreach vans.

9:00 am: A welcome from special guests and stories of experiencing homelessness, followed by setting off on our 2-mile walk. Look out for people in the neon winter walk hats to help show the way.

10:15 am: Walkers return, visit the tent to get breakfast, enjoy live music at the stage, and meet our partners at their info tables and outreach vans on Boston Common.

11:00 am: Event ends!
